Whirlwind September Ending!

Yay, we finally have a new baby. He is beautiful and healthy! What a blessing. He weighed 9 lbs. 11 oz. and is our biggest baby yet. He was born Sunday evening, the 28th, at about 9:55. I'll type more later, but for now I'm pressed for time.

Also, Jenna turned 6 today and is having a very happy birthday. She got to go to the store and pick out a toy with the money her granny Trish sent her. She picked some bath doll and really likes it. I made her a Candy Land cake about a week ago, just in case I had Josiah, and it turned out to be a good strategy, so all went well.

I added a few pictures for you all to enjoy. Hope to be writing again soon! Sorry this post turned out a little less than perfect.

Ryan Turns 4!

I can't believe Ryan is 4 now! He's growing up so quickly. He asked yesterday if he could start school now that he's four, lol. I guess he'll be ready when it's time.

He had a good birthday. He wanted a McQueen cake, again, so I did my best. And with Ryan, anything with wheels makes him happy so, since we didn't go to the beach, we got him a Power Wheels F-150. He seems to really be enjoying it.

We are still waiting on Josiah. I can feel some very slight pre-labor type pains, but still nothing to be overly concerned about. Maybe this week or next week he'll be born. Sigh, we'll see, we'll see.

It's way early here and I am starting to feel tired now. Maybe I can get in a couple hours of sleep before everyone wakes up.....

Ahhh, September!

I wish I could say that it's cooling off, but really it's not. We have had quite a few overcast days, but with very little rain. Overall, I guess on average it has cooled off to about the lower 90's each day instead of the usual lower 100's. I am still holding out for the real fall weather change.

We had a good Labor Day. Angie and her husband Steven stopped by and it was good to get to see her and talk to her. She doesn't get much time off from work so it was really nice that she and Steven were off on the same day.

Ryan's birthday is comming up this Sunday. He will be 4! He told me that he saw his gift in the garage yesterday, so we went ahead and assembled it and he ended up sleeping on the couch next to it. It is a ride on monster truck thing. We are still charging the battery though, so he just pretended yesterday and then when he was through pretending to ride it, he pretended to work on it, haha! He is so sweet. I really think he will enjoy working on and driving cars when he is older.

Mike and I are also celebrating our 12th anniversary this week. We don't have anything extra special planned. I am still just kind of wanting to relax. Though I would have enjoyed going to Port A this week. I have also thought about a short trip to Carlsbad Caverns, that would be fun and close, but we'll just have to see.

So far I have not had much indication that we will be having a baby anytime soon. My contractions have been anything but painful and so few and far between. I know this isn't going to last forever, but it sure seems like it is. At least I am much more comfortable than past pregnancies, mostly due to good Chiropractic care I believe. I don't want him to be born too early, but early would be okay with me. Tomorrow marks the end of week 36 so anytime after week 37 would be just fine with me. I'll probably be late though, just because I'm so anxious this time. I'll try and keep my blog here updated.

Changing again?

Yes, our minds have changed again. No trip to Port Aransas for us after all. We have decided that the money would be better spent elsewhere. So, at least don't have any more planning to do.

So, now I'm at about 34 weeks and am as impatient as ever. I am so tired of being uncomfortable and hot. Ah, well, it really is all worth it in the end. I do love having these kiddos. No real changes, still doing well. I am having the early contractions though, which I am happy about. At least pregnancy doesn't go on forever.

Jacob has taken up chess and loves it. I am trying to become more involved in the Midland homeschool group and they have chess on Monday nights. Jenna is saying she has enjoyed playing a little too so tonight she wants to go and check it out also. I'm glad they are having fun.

August Already?

I say that, but July really did go by slowly for me. August, however is flying by, which I am very happy about.

We are preparing for our trip to Port A now. My midwife knows a fellow midwife in the Corpus area, so we are covered. I am excited and yet, I know I'll wear myself out. I plan to sit around as much as possible. Dawn says she expects me to deliver mid-September and maybe I will. I still think the last week of September is when he'll be born. We'll see, we'll see.

So, birthdays are coming up here in the Coleman house. And I don't just mean a few, I mean everyone except me will be having a birthday here soon. For the girls, I re-painted their room with a cute monkey theme and got them accessories to match (sheets, quilt, rug, some monkeys to play with). Ryan gets a Rainforest lunch party in San Antonio and I think we have decided on a bike for him. Jacob wanted some leatherworking stuff, so that's what he will get. He really has enjoyed leatherworking since Susie, a friend of ours, has been working with him on it. I can't believe I am going to have an 8 year old who's almost as tall as I am!

Well, today is normal. We are going to keep trucking along on school so that we don't get behind. Though I guess it doesn't matter too much, since I like the idea of year-round schooling. We get lots of breaks that way and don't get burned out or forget everything over the summer.

I guess I've been tagged, lol...

Okay, Terri, I'll give my 6 "quirky, yet boring, unspectacular things about myself", but I'm pretty much too lazy to send six other people notice that I've tagged them. Fortunately, my observant husband was watching and let me know what is going on here.

Anyway, today I'm just scrapbooking. I have finished so many pages over this last week I haven't been online much.

Baby Josiah is doing well and my midwife says he's head down and getting ready. I also made a visit to my Chiropractor who said he believes I'm 2 weeks ahead of where I think I am on my pregnancy timeline. Not bad news I say, but child birth is so variable, I will likely never know for sure. Encouraging to hear though.

I am having reservations about going to Mustang Island. It is far away and especially after hearing my Chiropractor say he thought I was due sooner than I thought, it makes it downright to the wire. We have reservations made and are still planning to go, but I will still reserve my right to cancel at any time. I don't want to have my baby in Corpus Christi!

Alright, after a few updates, here are my quirks...
1. I have to bathe each of my children each day. I do not like smelly children.
2. I love dogs and think it's mean to keep them as outside pets. (Hey, I'm being honest)
3. I can't stand disorder and dust!
4. It bothers me if weeds grow in my yard.
5. I like white vehicles, remember I live in Texas. Any darker colored vehicles mean they get hotter in the sun!
6. I don't like to scrub the drain plug in the sink. I think it is the most disgusting, nasty thing and I don't like to even touch it. I have to clean it with bleach before I'm happy with it, even if I did got through all the trouble to get one with a cute froggy on it to help me with this hang-up.

Are those boring and unspectacular enough?

Another hot day in West Texas

Yep, summer is still here and I am hotter than ever. I have a fan pointing at me and the a/c on and am still breaking a slight sweat, ugh! I am still ready for fall/winter this year more than ever.

We are all loving school so far. Jacob has really enjoyed that some of his subjects are more self-paced and he's actually working ahead with it. I am glad yet again that we went with Landmark this year. I did have to buy a manuscript writing practice book for them, because ABeka starts out with cursive, but gives zero instruction in manuscript as part of a regular school curriculum. Both of them cannot write in manuscript and I am seeing places where they would need to, so we have an extra bit of work to do there.

This morning the kids are out helping dad. A friend of ours needs a tree cut down, so they all went along to "help". I think Jacob will actually be useful, but it's still good for the other two to be there also. Rachel, of course, stayed here with me.

I am really having a good time with my newest cookbook, Saving Dinner. I am actually cooking the meals I buy groceries for and they are healthy. We are still doing great on the not eating out too. We did have Papa John's pizza once, and that was just for fun, so I am sticking with my plan well. I have so much extra time in the afternoons that I have decided to work on my scrapbooking again. I really would like to do more of it, but time doesn't always let me. So, I guess up until Josiah is born, I can scrap, lol!

I was feeling a little couped up here in the house, so I scheduled a short trip to Port Aransas for us in August. I am excited about that too. It will be a little uncomfortable for me, but I feel like it will be better for me over all. We won't be able to go anywhere again for quite a while after the birth, so this will be really nice. I will post more about that as we go.
